Looking Back at the 2010 Olympics

As the excitement builds at the 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games it’s hard to not reflect on the many incredible moments we had back in 2010.


Last week while searching through our file cabinet, I came across an old box of special Olympic pins we custom made to hand out and trade at the venues we were catering at. I loved how trading pins opened up conversation with the thousands of visitors, athletes and volunteers we were so grateful to welcome to our home town of Whistler. My god we were so proud (still am).


Catering at three venues located at the beautiful Whistler Olympic Park for Ski Jump, Biathlon and XCountry, the Whistler Sliding Centre and Celebration Plaza (now Whistler Olympic Plaza) was an incredible “once in a lifetime” opportunity. We ended up serving over 500,000 meals; no easy task, but with all the amazing support and super keen team off 500 + it all worked out.


The Olympics has left an incredible legacy for our community and I am so grateful to have been a part of it in 2010 and now so excited for all our local athletes competing in PyeongChang.

Having our kids, Hannah and Stephen and my mom, receive accreditation to be able to come on site made the 20 hour work days all worthwhile.

They said the people would come and OMG they did. Our food concessions rocked!


Instead of frozen fries we took a different route and hand cut and served 20,000 lbs of Pemberton potatoes.
